What this site knows about you

Short, because the answer is: very little.

This site sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and runs no analytics of any kind. Nobody is counting your visit, and there is nothing here to opt out of.

Nothing leaves this site when you read it. Every file — the typefaces included — is served from this domain. No third party learns that you were here, because no third party is contacted. The typefaces used to come from Google's servers, which meant Google received your IP address and the page you were on; they are now hosted here instead.

What follows was written by reading this site's own code rather than from a template, and a script checks it against that code so it cannot quietly go out of date. Last reviewed 8 October 2026.

Who we are

Flowspire Ltd, trading as Flowspire Productions — company 15568183, registered in England and Wales, at Childwickbury House, Childwickbury, St Albans AL3 6JX. We are the data controller.

What you can give us, and what happens to it

The newsletter

Why we may hold it: Your consent, given twice: once by typing it, once by clicking the link we email you.

Nothing is stored anywhere until you click that link. If you never do, there is no record of you at all — the pending signup lives only inside the link itself, and expires after a week. The page is the filename of whichever page of this site carried the form — index, story or book — and it tells us which writing is worth doing more of. It is not where you were before you arrived: no referrer is read, and nothing records that.

The crew form

Why we may hold it: Your consent.

Your message is sent to us through this site and arrives as an email. Anything you attach goes straight from your browser to our Google Drive — the files do not pass through this website, and nothing is uploaded until your message has safely reached us. If an upload fails we still have what you wrote, and we will write back and ask for the rest. If you would rather not use the form at all, write to the address at the top of this page. The hidden field is a trap for automated spam: it is invisible to you, it sits outside the keyboard order and is hidden from screen readers, and if you are a person it will always be empty. We would rather tell you it is there than use a puzzle that loads somebody else's code onto this page.

Who else is involved

Three, and none of them hears from you unless you write to us:

There is no advertising network, no tracking pixel, no embedded video, no social widget and no third-party script of any kind on this site.

One thing the emails do that the pages do not. The confirmation email contains a photograph, loaded from this site when you open it. That means opening it with images switched on tells our server the time and your IP address, the same as visiting a page would — which is a read receipt, however little we want one. We do not look at it, log it separately, or connect it to your address, and switching images off costs you nothing but the picture. The newsletter itself carries no tracking pixel, and no link in it is wrapped to count clicks.

How long

The newsletter. Until you unsubscribe. Every letter carries a link, and it works.

What you tell us about the company. For as long as the book and the film are being made, and in the research archive afterwards — that is rather the point of it. If you would rather we did not keep it, say so and we will delete it.

Nothing you send is published without asking you first, by name or otherwise. That is a promise made on every page of this site and it is also how we handle the data: you see exactly what we would say about you, and where, before anything appears.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our holding it. Write to feedthecamera@flowspire.pro and we will answer within a month.

If you think we have got it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first, so we can fix it.
